Weekly classes: Semester September-February
La Tangueria offers several initiation series at different times on weekdays and Sundays. A Level 1 series effectively starts with a minimum of 6 registered couples. Therefore, if you would like to start to leran tango at La Tangueria soon, send us an e-mail with all the possibilities you have to follow classes. As soon as there are enough participants in the same group, it can start. For those wishing to join a group that has already started, we offer catch-up sessions (see below, or contact us to book a private catch-up session).
Initiations November 2024
2 new initiation groups could start in November (subject to at least 6 registered couples):
- Wednesday from 20h20 till 21h40 (80 min.):
> Dates: 27/11 – 4, 11, 18/12 – 8, 15, 22, 29/1 – 5, 12, 19, 26/2 – 10, 17, 24, 31/3
> Price: 230€ per person for a complete subscription of 16x 80 min. (or 68€ for the first 4 classes) - Thursday from 19h00 tot 20h20 (80 min.):
> Dates: 28/11 – 5, 12, 19/12 – 9, 16, 23, 30/1 – 6, 13, 20, 27/2 – 11, 18, 25/3 – 1/4
> Price: 230€ per person for a complete subscription of 16x 80 min. (or 68€ for the first 4 classes)
Join an existing group
3 groups that started in October can be joined for those who know the basics or are take a private class to catch-up the basics:
- Mondays from 19h10 till 20h20 (70 min.):
> Dates: 18, 25/11 – 2, 9, 16/12 – 6, 13, 20, 27/1 – 3, 10, 17/2
> Price: 165€ per person for a full subscription of 12x 70 min.
- Tuesdays from 19h10 till 20h20 (70 min.):
> Dates: 12, 19/11 – 3, 10, 17/12 – 7, 14, 21, 28/1 – 4, 11, 18/2
> Price: 165€ per person for a full subscription of 12x 70 min.
- Sundays from 17h till 19h (120 min.):
> Dates: 24/11 – 8,22/12 – 12, 26/1 – 9, 23/2
> Price: 165€ per person for a full subscription of 7x 120 min.
Registrations

Tango initiations, tasters and catch-up classes
La Tangueria regularly offers initiation classes to see if tango is for you. A trial class is also an opportunity for singles to get to know a partner before signing up for a series of initiation classes together. Of course, 2 ladies or 2 gentlemen can also take part together. A trial class can also be used as a catch-up class for those who have missed the start of a series.
NB. The first 30 minutes of the trial class are free. Those who don’t want to pay, can leave after 30 minutes.

Reservation: As there is a minimum and a maximum number of places, reservation is required via tangueria@gmail.com, Whatsapp (+32479228698) or the registration form.
Dress code: Come as you like; jeans, suit, sneakers, sandals… no special clothes or shoes are required for an initiation.
Partner: Preferably come as a couple. You can also participate with someone of the same gender. If you don’t have a partner, you can come on your own, but there’s no guarantee you’ll find someone to participate on site (you can then attend as an observer). We can also put you in touch with another single person beforehand, so that you can make an appointment to participate together. Just send us your profile (height, age, languages) or fill out a partner form and we will try to find a suitable partner.

Tango discovery workshops for absolute beginners, re-starters or to learn the other role
If you want to discover tango in a nutshell, you can participate in one our compact Discovery workshops. They serve also to catch up if you want to join a beginners group that started 2 till 4 weeks before.
No tango experience is required to participate, but also those who already know some of the basics will discover a new approach or new elements of the tango vocabulary. Our Discovery workshops are proposed in 2 x 75 minutes, over 1 or 2 days.
Next Discovery workshop: 14/12/2024 (14h30-15h45 & 16h-17h15)
NB. This intensive workshop also serves as a catch-up class for those who wish to join a beginners series that has already started, oin Monday, Tuesday or Sunday.
> 2 x 75 minutes to discover the basics of real Argentine Tango, as danced in the milongas of Buenos Aires.
> Price: early bird registration (until 48h before): 30€ pp for 2×75 min. (16€ pp for half a workshop, 1x75min.)
> Because a minimum of 6 couples is required for the workshop to take place, and the maximum number of places is limited to 12, registration is required through the registration form or by mail to tangueria@gmail.com.
> Last minute registration less then 48h before start: 5€ extra charge per person.
> In need of a partner? Singles can send their height, age, languages to tangueria@gmail.com to be put in contact with each-other.
> Participants of the discovery workshop can join one of the Level 1 groups that started since September (initiated beginners on Monday, Tuesday or Sunday). Following date: 8/2/2025 (same hours)
Practical information
- Classes in La Luna are taught in Dutch. Registrations are to be made via www.tangolaluna.be and payment is due in cash on the first day.
- Classes in La Tangueria are taught in English and/or French. Registrations have to be made via our online form and payments can be done upfront by bank transfer or the first day in cash. We don’t accept cheques, credit or bank cards.
- The first semester runs from September till February. Registrations start on 10 August.
- The second semester goes from February till June. Students of the first semester have a priority to register in the follow-up of their group. Newcomers can register as of 10 January.
- At first it is possible to register for one level only, and an option can be taken as of the 2nd class. In the groups where there are places left, students can register as of about 10 days before start of the term for extra weekly classes.
- It takes 2 to tango, so you need to register with a partner. We can help you find one via our Facebook group and the partner form.
- La Tangueria also disposes of a limited number of taxi dancers. These advanced students are available to follow an extra class per week with a single student in a lower level. The student pays for the taxi dancer’s classes (at a reduced price).
